Caldwell One-Room School Museum

CANAL MUSEUM 

DATES: Open June, July, and August 

HOURS: Open Saturday & Sunday ONLY 1:00pm - 5:00pm

The Erie Extension Canal was the major means of travel from Pittsburgh to the Great Lakes from 1854-1871. This canal system was vital to the iron industry in western Pennsylvania before the introduction of the railroads.

Inside the Canal Museum, visitors will find various artifacts and historical information from the canal era, including a replica of the Rufus S. Reed -- a typical canal boat.

Greenville's Canal Museum preserves some of the history of the Erie Extension Canal. Visitor's to the area will find it on Allan Avenue (the site of Lock No. 22).

GREENVILLE RAILROAD MUSEUM

The Greenville Railroad Park and Museum preserves artifacts and historical documents about the railroads. Kids will love climbing aboard a real train.

HARLANSBURG STATION MUSEUM OF TRANSPORTATION 

HOURS: Tues-Sat 10am-5pm, Sunday Noon-5pm June-Nov; Sat 10am-5pm, Sun Noon-5pm March, April, May and December

Located in replica train station with four passenger cars. HO Scale train layout depicting four scenes of Western Pennsylvania. The entrance area highlights the history of the Greyhound Bus Line with an original ticket booth.

Kidd's Mill Covered Bridge 
Mercer County Bridge No. 1801 is on the National Register of Historic Places. This is Mercer County's only remaining covered bridge. The Kidds Mill bridge is the only one of Smith's patented bridges still standing east of Ohio.

HOURS: Monday -Saturday 9:00am – 5:00pm, Sunday 12:00am – 5:00pm

FACILITIES: NOW OPEN...a new temporary showroom for Wendell August.  Due to a fire at their original location Wendell August moved next to Slovak Folk Crafts at 1605 South Center Street, Grove City PA.  Visitors will find a large selection of metal giftware in aluminum, bronze, pewter and precious metals.  Wendell August also has a second Mercer County location at Grove City Premium Outlets.
